Clater Jewelers has served generations of Louisvillians as their trusted jeweler for brilliant diamonds, gemstones, beautiful fine jewelry, and treasured gifts. With a tradition of trust, high ethical standards, knowledge of products and services, and fair pricing, Clater Jewelers has provided a great value to customers since first opening in 1949.

The family-owned company is operated by Sallie Clater Baer and Megan Campbell Martin, who have both been with the company since 1973.

Our staff has over a combined 199 years of jewelry experience. Our knowledge of diamonds and jewelry helps us to serve our customers. The staff can help you find the best diamond or gemstone for your jewelry needs.

Clater Jewelers is the only member of the Independent Jewelers Organization (IJO) in Louisville, giving them exclusive access to the largest independent jewelry buying group in the world.  

In addition to our IJO membership, Claters also has a GIA Graduate Gemologist on staff, Christy M. Effinger (owner Megan Martin’s daughter).

The highly-trained staff works directly with customers to create custom pieces. Services include; appraisals, jewelry repair, remounting, pearl stringing, engraving by expert machine engraver, and complimentary repair estimates and inspections.

Clater Jewelers is now serving their third and fourth generation of customers due to their customer service, integrity, and pleasant in-store experience, and hope to become the life-long jeweler of many Louisvilllians to come.
